Dextrose Monohydrate, also known as Edible glucose, glucose monohydrate, glucose powder, oral glucose, corn glucose, or even simply glucose, is a more widely distributed and important monosaccharide in nature, which is a polyhydroxyaldehyde. It has a sweet taste but is not as sweet as sucrose. It is suitable for solubility in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, and insoluble in ether. The rotation of an aqueous solution to the right is also known as "dextrose".
