Barium stearate, white or slightly yellow amorphous powder, melting point>225ºC, has a stimulating effect on the central nervous system, soluble in hot ethanol, benzene,  and other non-polar solvents, insoluble in water and ethanol. After heating and dissolving in an organic solvent, it becomes a jelly when cooled and has water absorption in the air. No sulfide pollution. In case of strong acid, it is decomposed into stearic acid and the corresponding barium salt.

Applications

Function
This product is mainly used for transparent films, thin sheets, artificial leather, rigid sheets and pipes. In soft products, it is often combined with cadmium, cadmium-zinc or cadmium-lead stabilizers. It is often used in combination with zinc soap in the vulcanized artificial leather formula. In pipes and cable materials, it is often combined with salt-based lead salts and lead soaps. In corrugated plates, it is often combined with cadmium soap, lead soap and salt-based lead salt. This product has no sulfide pollution. When the dosage is large, there is segregation and scaling. This product can also be used as a high-temperature release agent and a high-temperature lubricant for machinery.



 

Application
1. It is used as a high-temperature lubricant for machines, high-temperature additives for rubber products, and light-resistant and heat-resistant stabilizers for polyvinyl chloride plastics;
2. Used as a heat stabilizer for PVC products;
3. Used as waterproofing agent, lubricant and bearing lining;
4. It is used as a high-temperature resistant powder for rubber products. It can be used as a stabilizer and lubricant for polyvinyl chloride, and has the best long-term heat resistance among all alkaline earth metal stearates. It is mainly used for soft transparent films, thin sheets, artificial leather, rigid sheets, tubes, etc. It can also be used as a high-temperature release agent and a high-temperature lubricant for machinery. 
5. This product can be used as a heat stabilizer for vinyl chloride copolymer. It has good long-term heat resistance and lubricity, and the stabilization effect is greater than that of calcium stearate, but not as good as lead stearate. It has a good synergistic effect when used in combination with cadmium soap, zinc soap or epoxy compounds. The general dosage is 0.1%~2%. Combined with a small amount of lead-based stabilizer, the electrical properties of the product can be improved.
