Application
The annual output of magnesium oxide in China is about 12 million tons. It is the determination of sulfur and pyrite in coal and sulfur in steel. Used as a standard for white pigments. Light magnesium oxide is mainly used as a raw material for the preparation of ceramics, enamels, refractory crucibles and refractory bricks. It is also used as a polishing agent, adhesive, coating, and paper filler, and an accelerator and activator for neoprene and fluoroelastomer. After mixing with magnesium chloride and other solutions, it can be made into magnesium oxide water adjustment. It is used medically as an antacid and laxative for gastric and duodenal ulcer disease with hyperacidity. It is used as a catalyst in the chemical industry and as a raw material for the manufacture of magnesium salts. It is also used in the manufacture of glass, dyed meal, phenolic plastics, etc. Heavy magnesium oxide is used in the rice milling industry for firing, grinding and half drums. It is used in the construction industry to manufacture artificial chemical flooring, artificial marble, heat proof panels, sound insulation panels, and plastic industries as fillers. It can also be used in the production of other magnesium salts. One of the main uses of magnesium oxide is as a flame retardant, a traditional flame retardant material that widely uses halogen-containing polymers or a combination of halogen-containing flame retardants. However, in the event of a fire, due to thermal decomposition and combustion, a large amount of smoke and toxic corrosive gases will be generated, which will hinder fire fighting and personnel evacuation, and corrode instruments and equipment.
