Sodium sulfate, inorganic compounds, sodium sulfate decahydrate also known as mirabilite; High purity, fine particles of anhydrous matter is called sodium powder. Sodium powder, hygroscopicity, shape for the white fine crystal particles. It is mainly used for making sodium silicate, glass, porcelain glaze, paper pulp, refrigeration mixture, detergent, desiccant, dye thinner, analytical chemical reagent, medicine and so on.
Sodium sulfate is an important compound of sodium, when anhydrous, it is a white crystalline solid of formula Na2SO4. Na2SO4 is chemically very stable, being unreactive toward most oxidising or reducing agents at normal temperatures. It is a neutral salt, which forms aqueous solutions with pH of 7. |

1. Sodium sulfate is an important raw material for making glass and paper.
2. It is the largest in papermaking and cellulose industry, accounting for about 70% of the total.
3. Sodium sulfate is a component of synthetic detergent, it is a neutral salt, adding it can reduce the surface tension, increase the solubility of detergent.
4. It is the diluent of dyes and the auxiliary agent of dyeing and printing.
5. In the chemical industry, sodium sulfate is used as raw material for the manufacture of sodium sulfide, gypsum, sodium silicate and other chemical products.
6. Mirabilite is used as a purgative in medicine. Sodium sulfate is an antidote to barium and lead poisoning.
